In Photoshop 2nd semester this week, students will work on the Text Portrait Project. I have set aside the entire week for this project, because of the level of difficulty and the number of videos that accompany it. If you follow along with the videos using your own image, your success rate will be much higher than if you try to wing it. This is true of all our assignments, but this one in particular is a little tricky. To see examples, go to this link: Text Portraits
Photoshop 1st Semester:
Photoshop 1st semester students will continue with the video tutorials covering basic skills. On Friday they will complete a collage of four of their favorite things.
Photoshop 2:
Photoshop 2 students will also be completing a portrait, this time using a photo of one of the Life Skills students and following the techniques outlined here (including the brush tool settings):
Turning Photos of People into Line Art
After creating the lines of your line art, color your art using this technique:

(Note: I purposely sent you to page 3 of this tutorial because the previous parts are about scanning your image.)
Finally, use this tutorial to add the "dot" texture:
Pop Art Inspired by Lichtenstein
Multimedia:
In Multimedia students will continue learning iBooks Author and will begin a project featuring the Life Skills students in their own book.
