  • Gradient Mask Project:
  • What are you passionate about?  Band?  Music?  World peace?  A certain someone?  Find or take a minimum of 5 pictures that represent that passion and create a collage using the gradient mask technique you learned in the Gradient Mask tutorial.  
  • Make sure that your image will be print quality:
    • Start with a file that is "US Paper Size."
    • You may use it as is, or flip  it around so it is horizontal.
    • Make sure the images you use are "large."
  • Add text to create a title for your collage.  Make sure to use capitalization in your title.
  • You will have 2 full class periods to work on this.

  • Goal:  create a collage by blending photos together without harming the original photos.
  • Examples
  • One of the most frequently requested Photoshop tutorial is blending photos.
  • When you blend one photo into another, you can actually harm the photo, so you need to know how to blend photos using a "mask," which will protect your photos and allow you to try different techniques until you get it right.

  • The pen tool is one of the most productive tools in Illustrator.  You may have already used the pen tool in Illustrator, but whether you have or not, the following tutorials will help you hone this the art of using this tool.

Today you are going to start really working with layers in Photoshop.
Click on "Flower dir" and download the "flowers and more" zip file to your desktop (it has .zip at the end).
Double click on the zip file and it will open a folder of images.  Drag the folder to your "photos" folder.
Open Bridge, then open your Flowers and More folder.
Watch "Layers 1" using the images.

When you are finished, go back to Flower dir and find the Layers 01 file.  Right click on it and download it to your desktop.  Watch and follow along with Layers 2.

You may not finish this all today, and that's okay!
