Print and Image:

  • Complete your coloring page by tracing and outlines the images.
  • Hint:  use layers and lock each layer after you're finished with that section
  • Upload your finished image along with a description about what you did or what you learned.
During the class period, Print and Image 2 students will be showing you how to use the paper cutter and the engraver.  After your piece is engraved, take a photo of it and post it to your blog.

HOMEWORK:  Bring in a smooth flat rock big enough to engrave your name.

Print and Image:
Assignment: Engrave a Rock!
Get the file set up and ready to go on a flash drive and transfer it to the PC.  You may not have time to actually do the engraving--it depends on how long P&I 1 takes to do their names.
  • Measure your rock and create a new file in Illustrator that same size.
  • Choose a font your would like to use to engrave your name like you did yesterday.
    • You can choose another name or word
    • You can download fonts
    • You can add graphics if there is room
  • When you have your file set up, convert your text to points (I know you can figure this out)
  • Save your file to a flash drive and transfer it to the PC.
  • Set up your rock on the engraver, and engrave your name onto your rock.
  • Upload your finished photograph along with a description about what you did or what you learned.
