• 20 brainstorming images:  Create a new folder on your desktop, then find and download 20 images that would represent your idea of how the world could be a better place
• Open your folder and view by icon.  Take a screenshot showing all your images.  See example below.
• Upload your screenshot to your blog and write a one sentence description of your own original idea for the project.
• To get started, create a new file that is 
• 11" x 17" for a horizontal canvas or 
• 17" x 11" for a vertical canvas or
• 10" x 10" for a square canvas and 
• has a resolution of 300.

When I'm grading your assignments, sometimes I want to comment on your work.  Also, others who see your blog may want to comment on your work.  To make this possible, but still allow you control over publishing, you need to change your blog settings so that comments are allowed, but instead of showing up on your blog, they will go to your email.  Your settings should look like the ones below:

• Welcome to the first day of the rest of your Photoshop experience!  Today you will begin learning a tool that could dramatically change the way you look at Photoshop.  But before the big stuff, you have to start with the small, so here you go:

• Take a look at the images in this folder and get a preview of what you will be doing.
• Get the photos you need from the internet--remember to use the "large" option under image size.
• Extra credit:  instead of using a photo of a person from the internet, use a photo of yourself.  (And, it would actually be easier because you can pose the way you need to pose and put yourself on a dark background so you're easier to copy and paste.)
• Make the final image as believable as possible--fade the edges with a "soft" brush eraser, and look at whether a drop shadow would help as well.

• What is Trick or Treat on Unicorn Street?
• A Halloween event here at the high school held for young children (8 and under).

• Create a new file that is 13" x 19" (or 19" x 13") poster with 300 dpi (resolution)
• Make sure you use this resolution so we can print your poster if it is chosen 

• Search for "Halloween Posters" or "Halloween Images" to get ideas for your poster.
• Remember what you learned about copyright infringement!
• Create an age-appropriate poster for Trick or Treat on Unicorn Street
• Save your image as a Photoshop file for now.
• Take a screenshot of your finished poster and upload it, along with a PARAGRAPH of how you completed this project.  Include a link to any images you used from the web.

• Use Photobooth to take a picture of your eyes.  
• Follow along with this changing eye color video to change the color of your eyes.  
• Then, find a photo online and do the same thing with the eyes and hair. 
• Upload a before and after of both images (your eyes and the photo you find online).
• Include a description about what you did or what you learned.

Photoshop 2:

Assignment: 

•  Note:  The following will now be part of your grade:
  Giving your post a title-name your artwork! (10 points)
  Explaining what you did and how you did it (20 points)
• Using all original art/Creative Commons images/Creative adaptations
  
  Halloween Design:  create a design to go in a "Happy Halloween" message to the school via the announcements.  Designs will be put in a slideshow and set to scary music and at the end will say "Happy Halloween from the Advanced Photoshop Students" (or something like that).
  
  Photoshop 1 students will vote on their favorite design.  Winner will receive a prize and top billing on my blog. 
  
  Deadline is October 12, which should give you enough time to finish whatever you're doing now and still meet the deadline.  Please make sure your images are 300 dpi in case we decide to print them.
