Youtube Banner Assignment Create a banner for the district for their Youtube Channel. The link above will give you measurements for all devices. Banner needs to be viewable in all devices, so the main information in the banner should fit in the "Text, Logo safe area."
Remember your audience (logo will need to be approved by district administrators)
Use the following overall dimensions: 2560 pixels wide, 1440 pixels tall, 200 dpi (resolution) in case they wish to use it for print later on.
Here is what they are using now. The only thing that needs to be kept is "New Braunfels I.S.D." Everything else is open for change.
Remember, the work needs to be your own. This is how I would do it:
Find examples of Youtube Channel logos
Look at images on the district web site as well as other campus web sites to get a "feel" for what administrators have already approved
Gather images I think would be appropriate (any images--at first, all I'm looking for is a representation of the images I think should be used)
Arrange images, text, backgrounds, etc.
Trace (pen tool) around the final images I've decided on. Significantly change images so they fit with my banner and they are not the same images I started with.
Keep the Photoshop file, but save a copy as a .png and "share" it with Mr. Hawes and me.
In this tutorial you will be learning two things: how to paint with text, and how to prepare a background so you can use it for adding things like text or other elements. You will receive two daily grades (Painting with Text and Repairing Backgrounds) and one homework grade (making text brushes).
Project: Make your own painting with text. Use high quality images so I can print it. Use a resolution of 300 dpi and a setting of 11 x 17 or 17 x 11 (inches).
The most "moving" projects will be printed.

Create "Speed Art" in PhotoshopThis zip file contains examples This zip file has a few videos explaining how to record your screen using Quicktime. Update: don't bother watching the videos about using music or voice, because you'll be using iMovie to speed up your movie and add music.
Make sure your video has a title page with the name of your project, your name, name of song and artist.
Make sure your music is school appropriate
Your music should fade at the end
The video should end with the final project on the screen for at least 5 seconds

Photo Cube Zip File Note: When you look for the "shape layer" box it is now in a dropdown (and should already be in "shape), and the layers will not look like mine, but everything else will work the same.
Animating in CS6 (This will show you how to create a simple animated gif in CS6, which will prepare you to do the other two animations in CS5. The guy's voice is a little annoying at first, but then it sorta becomes normal.)
